In September of 2004, during the Florida Hurricanes Francis and Ivan, Hughes Network asked Satellite Family to take their customer calls while the Florida offices were evacuated. Following the Hurricane relief, Hughes Network Systems established a redundant customer support center in Southern California at the Satellite Family corporate headquarters. Today, if you order HughesNet from Satellite Family you are automatically enrolled in the Satellite Family Premier program which is an additional customer support center in addition to Hughes.
