Introducing: Spaceway-3, HN9000S, Elite, and Elite Plus

New HughesNet satellite, modem, and plans

Spaceway-3, which was launched on August 14, 2007, has been properly positioned and configured for satellite internet use. As of June 16th 2008, the HughesNet satellite is fully operational and ready for residential and commercial use. By utilizing the benefits of Spaceway-3 and a new HughesNet modem, the HN9000S, we are able to offer speeds up to 3Mbps.

The HN9000S is a completely new modem available to satellite internet customers. It runs on the Ka band which offers higher speeds then the old Ku band system. The HN9000S is the size of a standard DSL or Cable internet modem and has a stylish white and silver finish. It is fully compatible with all the HughesNet service plans.

With the addition of Spaceway and the HN9000 modem, HughesNet is now offering higher speeds on all packages. The Home plan now offers download speeds of up to 1Mbps as opposed to 700 Kbps in the past. The Pro plan’s speed is now up to 1.2Mbps - a 20% increase in download speed! The ProPlus can now download at 1.6Mbps and upload at 250Kbps. Increases in speed translate into less time spent downloading and uploading web pages, documents, and photos to the internet.

We would also like to introduce two new plans: Elite and ElitePlus. These new packages allow the fastest speeds HughesNet has ever offered! Elite replaces the old Small Office plan and boasts download speeds of up to 2Mbps - a 33% increase over its predecessor. ElitePlus downloads at speeds of 3Mbps, which is the fastest single dish satellite internet system offered nationwide. An added benefit to these plans is they have a lower upfront cost and are able to attain their advertised speeds using a .74 meter dish. Elite and ElitePlus customers can use the same satellite dish as Home, Pro, and ProPlus customers allowing for easy upgrading if required.
