How to monitor your bandwidth usage
Satellite Internet Tool from Satellite Family
This guide will help you install and setup your computer to allow you to monitor your bandwidth usage. Monitoring your bandwidth usage is important if you are an intense satellite internet user.
- Download and install AnalogX Netstat Live.
After it is installed, start the program by clicking Start -> All Programs -> AnalogX -> Netstat Live -> Netstat Live.
- Right click anywhere in the AnalogX Netstat Live window and select Configure.
- By default, there are many features disabled. To ensure correct reporting of your bandwidth usage, click the Disabled button for Auto Minimize, Auto Start and Close Minimizes - this will change them to now say Enabled.
- What you have just done is allowed AnalogX Netstat Live to launch each time Windows starts and automatically minimize itself. It is important to have AnalogX Netstat Live running at all times when the computer is turned on for the reporting to be accurate.
- Now you can disable some of the unimportant features that come with NetStat Live. Right click anywhere in the window again and select Statistics - click to remove a checkmark next to Remote Machine, System Threads and CPU Usage.
- Now you have configured NetStat Live to monitor bandwidth usage. You can track your bandwidth upload and download usage for this month, last month, or since you last turned on your computer.
- If you have multiple computers connected in your household, you must repeat this process on each computer using the satellite internet connection. Your total bandwidth usage will be the numbers from all the computers added up.
